What services does the library offer for online students?
Answer
We offer a few different library services for online students. These options include:
E-Reserves: A place where faculty can post links to articles, videos, or other e-resources for a specific class, all in one place for students. All our e-reserves can be found at: https://tamuct.libguides.com/er.php?b=c
E-Textbooks: We’ve got some current textbooks for classes in both print and digital formats. To find electronic books, you can use our discovery search (the main search box) and change the category to “Course Reserves” and then type in the class number or book name. https://tamuct.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?tab=CourseReserves&search_scope=MyInstitution&vid=01TAMU_CT:CT&lang=en&offset=0
Interlibrary Loan: If there is an item that our library doesn’t own, you can complete an interlibrary loan request to see if we can borrow the item from another library. Articles are usually shared digitally in the ILL portal and physical books are sent directly to our library. It usually takes two to three weeks to receive items after the request is made, with digital requests arriving sooner. https://tamuct.libguides.com/interlibraryloan
Library Account: Students can see what they’ve got checked out and request that we hold items on the library account. You can log into this using your single-sign on (SSO) school email and password. https://tamuct.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/login?vid=01TAMU_CT:CT
Research Guides: If you need to do research, we’ve got guides for each major subject area. These guides list suggested books, journals, databases, and support resources for writing, citing, and websites. https://tamuct.libguides.com/?b=s
Scheduling Virtual Appointments: You can schedule meetings with our librarians to get feedback on your research questions, learn how to navigate databases in your subject area, and talk through creating citations. https://tamuct.libcal.com/appointments
